Quick test for www.feedmyinbox.com

Not much of a blog post, just a test to see if WordPress RSS can be fed into my Evernote account.

I set up an account with www.feedmyinbox.com (RIP) using my Evernote email address, then changed the account settings so each post is delivered as an individual message with the post title as the email subject line.

Once they have arrived I plan to move them into my Postach.io notebook within Evernote, retag them if necessary and – hopefully – they will appear in that blog!

I’m now waiting to see the individual posts appear in my Evernote. Nothing so far though, hence the test blog post!

Has anyone else tried archiving their blog posts in Evernote? Do you have any tips you would like to share?

  1. Ian, just learned about feedmyinbox.com via your blog. Thx! Another way to accomplish what you set out to do is by using task automation, http://ifttt.com for example.

You can set up a “recipe” – “if new RSS feed item, then add new note in Evernote, or append to existing note. You can also use that to cross-feed from Evernote TO other platforms – here’s an example with Facebook: http://how-to-tips.info/can-a-postach-io-blog-post-to-a-facebook-page.

One big advantage of using IFTTT for this purpose is that you can customize it more, for example by applying tags and sending it straight to a predetermined notebook.

freeCodeCamp: Responsive Web Design

This evening I worked my way through a few courses on the Responsive Web Design Certification | freeCodeCamp.org pathway. I really liked the way the tutorial worked. I think it would be a very useful way for NQ students to learn and practice their web design skills (HTML, CSS, simple Javascript). I wonder if freeCodeCamp […]

Google Certified Trainer event at Co.Lab, Alloa

It was an early start yesterday to travel down to Alloa, a place I’d never visited before! What struck me was how beautiful the drive from Kinross was, with the snow-capped Ochils accompanying me west through Clackmannanshire. Arriving at Co.Lab I was greeted by owner Pam Currie and Louise Jones and got stuck in to […]

Updated – Google Certified Educator (Level 2)

I’ve long been a fan of Google Suite for Education and first became a Google Certified Educator in October 2015. I don’t know why but I’ve never really tried to take this certification any further despite running regular training events in school since 2012, bar last school session. I deliberately took the decision to not […]
